Bali Weather Month-by-Month

Dry season, wet season, and the specific weeks our guides consider ideal for each type of tour.

January–February

Wet season peak. Warm. Afternoon storms. Waterfalls at peak volume. Great for jungle tours, less great for Nusa Penida boats (surf). Flights and hotels cheaper.

March

Tail end of wet season. Nyepi (Day of Silence) falls in March — check the exact date before booking, all tours, restaurants, and the airport close for 24 hours.

April–May

Our favourite months. Dry air, clean viewpoints, rice terraces greenest. Crowds still modest. Prices still modest.

June

Dry, breezy, spectacular. Galungan (major Hindu festival) often falls in June — beautiful to witness but some operators close for the week.

July–August

Peak season. Perfect weather. Hotels pricier; tours sell out 2 weeks ahead. Start days at sunrise to beat the crowds.

September–October

Second sweet spot. Clear, dry, crowds thinning. Winds pick up late October — boat crossings choppier.

November–December

Early wet season. Afternoon storms return. Christmas/New Year sees a crowd bump despite the weather. Sunrise tours still reliably dry.
