Bali Visa on Arrival — What Actually Happens at the Airport

Current VOA cost, eligible passports, extension process, and the overstay fine math.

What VOA covers

Visa on Arrival gives 30 days, extendable once for another 30. IDR 500,000 payable at a window before immigration. Most Western passports qualify; check the Indonesian immigration site before you fly for your specific country.

eVOA (the faster path)

Apply online at molina.imigrasi.go.id 48+ hours before flight. Saves the airport queue entirely. Credit card accepted. You still need to show the QR at immigration.

Extending

Requires a visit to an immigration office around day 25. You can do this yourself or pay an agent IDR 600–800k to handle it. Plan 2–3 office visits on your own; agents usually make it one pickup.

Overstaying

Fine is IDR 1,000,000 per day. Being weeks over can result in deportation and a ban. Not worth it — extend or leave.

Long-stay options (KITAS)

If you're moving to Bali, you'll need a longer visa: retirement KITAS (55+), investor KITAS, work KITAS, or the newer second-home KITAS. Use a visa agent; the paperwork is not a self-serve task.
